About Majed

Candidate of BSc in Foreign Service majoring in Political Science from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. I am in my third/Junior year.

Throughout my education, from International Baccalaureate to my current studies, critical thinking and analysis were always emphasized. This means nuance and a realistic approach. Naturally, having honed these skills for many years, I have developed a superfluous ability to think critically, analyze, and present a variety of topics in a creative yet direct manner that is both developing and engaging. Better yet, I present ideas in a fresh way by using modern examples like movies, sports, celebrities and news that are relevant to young people.

I am a person who is easy to talk to and maintains an open environment. I teach mainly in English and Arabic. I am also developing into a francophone as I have been learning French for a year.

I am a creative and adaptive teacher who shape shifts just like water. The first thing I do is identify my student's learning style(s) to see which approach is the best. Then I use the student's strengths to augment their learning experience while gently reaching towards the student's weaknesses and developing them too. This is done to provide a wholesome learning program aimed at developing a student's knowledge, analytical skills, critical thinking and character.

I generally structure a lesson in the following way:

1) Title Intro: I explain the title of the lesson, why it is important and how it is relevant in daily applications.

2) Lesson Outline: This is where I list all the sections of a lesson. This is brief and meant to prepare the student mentally for new upcoming concepts.

3) Cover a section: For me covering a section means explaining all key relevant ideas to the student, then discussing it with the student in an open fashion to ensure they have grasped it in a manner which the student is comfortable with. This style of teaching in my opinion balances between student and teacher engagement.

4) Repeat step 3 if necessary: if a lesson consists of multiple sections, then I will repeat step 3 until all sections in a lesson are covered.

5) If any time remains, I will dedicate it to aiding the student with any difficult assignments or lingering questions that may have evaded our discussions.

Note: As stated earlier, I am an adaptive and creative person. If the student does not respond to my teaching template, then I will modify or change it entirely to fit the student's needs. In my eyes, it is all about reaching the finish line, and I have recognized with my experience that we all do so in different ways.

My capacity is to teach student's from elementary through high school.
