About Emilia

Hey I'm Emilia! I'm a massive lover of all things maths and science, and tutoring is a great way to help people understand and appreciate these :) I'm going to Imperial College in September to study Aeronautical Engineering as I love rockets and space!

About the lesson

Teaching in a way that engages students is my biggest priority - these methods include starting with the basics the student understands and building on that knowledge in a way that makes sense to them. I bring pre-written notes to lessons that students can take home as a summary of what I've covered and suggest resources to consolidate what they've learnt after the lesson. I try to get students to work through questions during the lesson and teach them ways to approach stumbling blocks in a way that can be used in other questions. I've been tutoring for 3-4 years and lessons are about 90min as this is the optimal focus time determined by science. Lessons for years 11-13 for students studying IB or Cambridge (although I can also do NCEA.)
