About Jack
I am a piano tutor with over 9 years of experience and hold a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano. Music has always been my passion, and I especially enjoy exploring composition and songwriting with my students. I believe that learning piano should be fun, engaging, and tailored to each learner’s needs. My teaching style is personalized, ensuring that lessons suit school students, college learners, adults, and professionals alike. I focus on building strong fundamentals while encouraging creativity and self-expression. Areas of expertise include chord theory, performance skills, sight-reading, and improvisation. I work with learners at all levels, from Intermediate to Advanced, as well as those at the Professional or Expert stage. Each lesson balances structured practice with playful exploration, helping students develop confidence, technical skill, and musical intuition. I enjoy guiding students as they compose their own pieces, improvise over chord progressions, and master challenging repertoire. Performance practice is integrated to build stage presence and expressive playing. Seeing students grow and discover their own musical voice is the most rewarding part of teaching. My goal is to nurture both skill and creativity in every lesson. Together, we can embark on a musical journey, develop your abilities, and unlock your full piano potential.

My teaching approach blends classical, pop, jazz, and contemporary styles to create lessons that are both engaging and personalized. I integrate technology, using ear training apps, metronomes, and DAWs to strengthen timing, pitch, and creative expression.
Lessons balance technique, theory, and musicality. Students explore scales, chords, improvisation, and repertoire across genres. Creative exercises encourage composition and personal expression, while structured practice ensures solid fundamentals.
Learners with performance, liturgical, or production-focused goals receive tailored guidance to develop confidence and skill. Feedback is consistent and supportive, helping students track progress and refine their playing. I focus on building both technical ability and musical intuition.
By combining traditional teaching with modern tools, lessons are dynamic, interactive, and fun. Students are encouraged to experiment, express themselves, and discover their unique musical voice. Together, we turn practice into a rewarding and creative journey.
