About Leira
I hold an M.Mus in Piano Performance and Pedagogy and have 11 years of experience teaching piano to learners across a wide range of ages and skill levels. My approach combines technical instruction with expressive guidance, enabling students to develop mastery, musical sensitivity, and performance confidence. Lessons are personalized to each student’s goals and learning style, providing structure while encouraging creativity and exploration. I emphasize discipline, clarity, and interactive learning. Lessons include technical exercises, repertoire study, sight-reading, improvisation, and performance coaching. I encourage students to experiment with expression, tone, phrasing, and dynamics, helping them discover their personal musical voice. Beyond teaching, I perform, study new repertoire, and explore diverse pedagogical approaches to continually enrich my lessons. Watching students develop both technical skill and expressive musicality is deeply rewarding. I am committed to nurturing pianists who are confident, skilled, and passionate about their musical journey.

My piano lessons emphasize developing technical proficiency, sight-reading, rhythmic accuracy, finger independence, tonal control, and expressive musicality. Lessons combine structured exercises, repertoire practice, improvisation, and creative exploration to ensure students develop both mechanical skill and artistic expression. I prioritize creating a supportive environment where learners feel encouraged to experiment musically, ask questions, and gain confidence in both practice and performance. Lessons are carefully tailored to the student’s level, goals, and personal interests, making learning engaging and meaningful.
Beginners focus on finger positioning, simple scales, basic rhythmic patterns, and beginner repertoire to establish a strong foundation. Intermediate students expand their technique, practice more challenging pieces, and work on phrasing, dynamics, and expressive nuance. Advanced students refine their technical skill, explore complex repertoire, develop interpretive choices, and prepare for recitals or examinations. Every lesson is structured to integrate theory, technical mastery, and expressive artistry, helping learners progress steadily and confidently.
Piano lessons also develop cognitive skills, concentration, and emotional awareness. Students learn to interpret musical works thoughtfully, develop timing and coordination, and communicate emotion through their playing. My goal is to cultivate technically proficient, expressive, and confident pianists capable of performing with artistry and achieving personal musical growth.
