About Annalise

My piano teaching approach is centred on discovery, self-expression, and exploring the full range of sound. I encourage students to experience music as a personal and creative journey. Through guided improvisation, call-and-response games, and storytelling with music, lessons are playful, engaging, and deeply expressive.

We explore technical aspects such as pedal technique, tone balance, and shaping dynamics, always with the goal of enhancing musical expression. Layered sound textures and creative exercises help students understand how harmony, rhythm, and timbre work together. I support learners who enjoy exploring emotions through music while building solid technical skills.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s curiosity and pace. Experimentation is encouraged, and mistakes are treated as opportunities for growth. For those drawn to contemporary or popular styles, we integrate modern sounds while maintaining strong foundational skills. Every session combines creativity, technique, and emotional depth to foster confident, expressive playing.

About the lesson

I’m a passionate piano tutor with over 9 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Piano with a focus on Music Education. Teaching piano is my joy, and I love helping students of all ages discover the excitement of making music.

Together, we celebrate milestones like performing your first recital, composing your own song, or finally mastering a favourite piece. Each achievement is a step forward, motivating you to keep exploring and growing.

My lessons are paced gently to suit your individual needs, making progress feel achievable and rewarding. I focus on creating an environment where practice is enjoyable, and musical exploration feels inspiring. You’ll develop skills in technique, expression, and musical understanding, all while enjoying the journey.
