About Owen
My relationship with the piano began in childhood, drawn by its ability to communicate emotion beyond words. Over nine years of teaching, I’ve guided students of all backgrounds—from absolute beginners to aspiring performers—helping them explore their unique musical identities. My experience spans across genres, blending classical foundation with modern expression. I approach teaching with empathy and enthusiasm, creating a space where students feel encouraged to take creative risks and challenge themselves. My lessons are built on trust and inspiration, ensuring that learning remains joyful while maintaining high artistic standards. I incorporate storytelling, visualization, and movement into lessons to help students feel rhythm and tone intuitively. Outside of teaching, I perform in chamber ensembles, compose small pieces, and collaborate with other musicians. These experiences keep my perspective fresh and authentic. For me, teaching piano is an exchange of energy—a way to nurture creativity while helping others find beauty in their sound. It’s an art form that constantly evolves and continues to inspire me every day.

My piano lessons are crafted to nurture technical skill, artistic sensitivity, and musical imagination. I believe that learning piano is not just about mastering notes—it’s about discovering one’s inner voice through sound and movement. Each lesson is a balance of discipline and creativity, designed to inspire students to express themselves confidently at every level.
Beginners focus on posture, rhythm, and finger coordination, exploring simple melodies that build both skill and enjoyment. Intermediate students dive into technique, harmony, and sight-reading, developing fluency across classical, jazz, and contemporary styles. Advanced learners refine interpretation, performance dynamics, and stage presence while studying repertoire from composers such as Chopin and Debussy. Ear training, improvisation, and music theory are integrated throughout to build complete musicianship.
Every class is a journey of discovery—students not only learn to perform but to understand music deeply. My goal is to help each pianist develop a personal connection with their instrument, transforming practice into a form of self-expression and lifelong artistic growth.
