About Jess

Hi! I'm a 22-year-old PSU physics graduate. I am a level 2 CRLA certified tutor with hundreds of hours of experience tutoring physics, math, and statistics, as well as teaching violin and viola lessons. I have worked with all different kinds of people from 6 to 60 years old from all over the US. I am happy to meet you over Zoom or near PSU campus.

I understand that tutoring can be intimidating. There's no need to be nervous--I can meet you wherever you are at. Everyone has different learning styles, and I hope we're a good fit!

About the lesson

I have found that the reason students might not enjoy or feel like they're good at math and sciences is typically that they haven't found the right way of looking at problems. The most effective teachers are the ones that are able to offer students several different approaches and help them figure out which ones make sense to them. Tutors come in helpful when classroom teachers don't have the time to do this with every student.

I'm ready to help students at any level from Pre-Algebra through 200-level university math and physics courses understand that the beauty of math and science is that there isn't one right way to solve a problem, and taking a little extra time to explore options can be a game changer.

I am happy to meet at Cedar Mill Library or over Zoom for no additional charge, but if you would like to meet somewhere else in the Beaverton area and it is accessible by transit I can also do that if you cover the cost.
