About Kshitij
Hi, I'm Kshitij Pawar, and before I'm anyone's teacher, I'm someone who never really stopped being a student of the sky.
I studied physics all the way through a master's in astrophysics, but the real education happened outside the classroom, sitting with quasar spectra at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, tracking stellar disc populations with researchers in Estonia, measuring elemental abundances in stars with a team in Lithuania. I've spent years asking questions most people never think to ask: what a star's light reveals about its chemistry, how our galaxy's disc came together over billions of years, what patterns hide inside a sunspot cycle. That curiosity is still the engine behind everything I do.
But somewhere along the way, I realized I didn't just want to do research, I wanted to hand that sense of wonder to someone else. So for the past few years, I've taught astronomy and physics to over a thousand students, from Grade 3 to Grade 11, across schools in India and the UAE. I've run night sky sessions, solar observation workshops, telescope trainings, and asteroid detection projects, some of which led actual students to help identify real asteroid candidates. I've watched kids go from "I don't get physics" to building working models for a Space Fair, genuinely excited to explain their own projects to their parents.
I want to teach because I know what it feels like to be pulled in by a subject, and I think every student deserves that feeling, not just the grade at the end of it. I don't believe physics is something you memorize. I believe it's something you notice, in a falling apple, a rainbow, the tilt of the moon. My job is to help you notice it too, and once that happens, I've found the marks tend to take care of themselves.
That's who I am. Not just someone with a physics degree, but someone who still finds the universe genuinely astonishing, and wants you to find that too.

I don't teach physics to help you clear an exam. I teach it so you stop being afraid of it.
That's always been my starting point, whether I'm in a classroom or working one on one with a student. Most kids who say "I hate physics" don't actually hate physics, they hate the fear that builds up around it. The confusion, the pressure, the feeling that everyone else gets it and they don't. So before I explain a single formula, I try to take that fear off the table.
Once a student feels safe enough to ask a "dumb question," everything changes. That's when real learning starts. I break concepts down using real-world examples instead of just definitions, I let students sit with confusion for a bit before rushing to fix it, and I always circle back to the same idea: understanding comes first, marks come after, on their own.
I teach Grades 8 to 12, across State Boards, CBSE, and Cambridge (IGCSE/A Level), so I'm used to adapting to different syllabi and different ways of examining the same core ideas. But no matter the board, my approach doesn't change. I'm not trying to make students memorize physics. I'm trying to make them feel it, question it, and eventually enjoy it.
If a student walks away from a session less afraid of physics than when they started, I consider that a win, marks or not.
