About Soheil
I am a PhD researcher in Physics and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Western Australia. My current work focuses on a microscopy project where I am developing an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) system as a biomedical imaging tool to study cancer tissue motion.
I began my tutoring experience in physics at the start of my Master’s degree and continued throughout my studies, gaining several years of teaching experience alongside my research. I teach physics and engineering subjects to primary school, high school, and university students, adapting my explanations to suit each student’s level of understanding.

After years of experience in education, I have realized that tutoring is not effective unless students become genuinely curious about the concepts they are learning. My goal is to encourage this curiosity and help students develop a strong desire to understand physics at a deeper level.
I do not focus on teaching formulas in isolation. Instead, I start by helping students build an intuitive and conceptual understanding of each topic. I guide them to develop a “sense” of the physics first, and in many cases, I help them derive the formulas themselves before formally introducing them.
This approach leads to a stronger understanding of the material, making it easier for students to apply concepts, solve problems more efficiently, and actually enjoy the learning process.
