About Matthew
I am a Physics PhD student finishing my third year. I am pursuing theoretical research with my major professor, specifically in work involving General Relativity, Group Theory, and Gauge Theory. While here at USU, I have worked in the tutoring center, and I have taught multiple sections of Labs each semester. I have a true passion for the subject, and enjoy working through physics concepts with students. I have a great deal of patience, and I care about a student's learning, even if they will not use Physics in their career. In addition to my passion for the subject, I won the physics prizes from both my high school and undergraduate University.

I will strive for a true understanding of the materials, rather than simply providing answers to the student. I try to explain the "why" behind the relevant formula and from where it comes. My aim is to build a student's intuition so that they may continue independently. While acknowledging students' strengths, I also seek to address areas that need work.
