About Emily
I’m a passionate physics graduate with strong academic results, tutoring experience, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping others learn. I’ve supported students before, including helping failing Nat. 5 Maths students achieve A grades, and I’ve continued to build my skills through university. Additionally, as a STEM Ambassador volunteer, I’ve developed clear, confident communication method when explaining scientific ideas to younger learners. Altogether, my academic background, problem-solving ability, and clear communication make me a confident and committed tutor.

Before lessons begin, I ask your child to complete a short diagnostic worksheet with questions of varying difficulty. Using the worksheet results, with feedback from both parent and child, I'll create a personalised lesson plan that targets specific areas for improvement.
Lessons are typically one hour, though longer sessions can be arranged if needed.
A standard lesson includes:
- A short warm-up challenge
- A teaching and guided-practice section where we work through a range of questions together
- Optional homework (~Takes around 20 minutes) that I review in the following lesson
I’m also happy to give practical tips on how to study more effectively, including revision strategies, organisation methods, and ways to build confidence in problem-solving.
I have previous tutoring experience with Caledonia Tutors, working with students across Nat 4/5, Higher, and Advanced Higher.
