About Jakob
I am a student at Emory University majoring in Physics with a minor in Math. I have experience in many areas of math including calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, precalculus, and multivariable calculus. My Physics knowledge includes all areas of AP Physics 1, 2, and C as well as Modern Physics, Special Relativity, and Classical Mechanics. I received on a 5 on AP Calculus BC, AP Physics 1, and AP Physics 2 while in high school.

I believe every student learns differently, and it is important to cater your teaching style to the individual student's needs. Some students are visual learners that like to see examples worked out in front of them before they are ready to try on their own while others learn best by diving right in and learning from their mistakes. As a teacher it is important to make sure the student understands the concepts and methodology behind their work rather than memorizing problem types and examples. I strive to ensure my students have strong knowledge of the basics and can think conceptually so that when faced with abstract problems they are able to problem solve effectively.
