About Maya
I am a friendly and enthusiastic BSc (Hons) Physics graduate from the University of Birmingham.
I studied Maths (A*), Physics (A) and Latin (A) at A Level and have 11 GCSEs with A* grades, including Maths, Physics and Statistics. Having successfully gone through the exam process fairly recently, I can offer advice and understanding to students as well as tips for passing those exams!
I am DBS checked, have experience volunteering with children aged 7-11 and running a Maths club while at school for Year 7 students; this involved organising games and creative activities to help engage those struggling with Maths. In Sixth Form, I also volunteered to tutor younger students in Maths and Latin.

I believe the key to my success at GCSE and A Level was determining my learning style. This is so important as the way students are taught in school doesn't always work for everybody. I aim to help my pupils discover this and tailor the lessons to suit.
I am patient and will help build their confidence in their subject and prove that Maths and Physics aren't as scary as some people think!
