About Alfie
Hi, I'm Alfie. I graduated with a First-Class degree in Physics, where I developed a real appreciation for the beauty of maths and the way it helps us understand the world. Since then, I've worked in data analytics and AI, solving problems every day using the same logical thinking and mathematical skills I now teach.
What I enjoy most, though, is helping other people reach that moment where something suddenly makes sense. I know how frustrating it can be when a topic just doesn't click, and I've always found that the right explanation from the right person can make all the difference.
I'm patient, approachable and easy to get along with, and I aim to make lessons something students look forward to rather than dread. Whether you're struggling with the basics or aiming for top grades, I'll meet you where you are and help you make steady progress at a pace that works for you.

I know that for a lot of students, maths and physics can feel frustrating, intimidating or just plain boring. My goal is to change that. I keep lessons relaxed, friendly and interactive, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence without feeling judged.
Rather than telling students what to memorise, I focus on helping them understand why things work. Once concepts click, the exam questions become much easier. Everyone learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit each student - whether they need to build confidence from the ground up or they're aiming for the very top grades.
Lessons are usually an hour long and are tailored to whatever the student needs most. We might go over tricky topics from school, work through homework together, prepare for upcoming exams, or tackle challenging questions to stretch their understanding. I like to keep lessons conversational, encouraging students to think things through rather than simply giving them the answers.
I have a First-Class degree in Physics, giving me a strong background in both maths and physics, and I've spent my career solving complex problems and explaining difficult ideas in a simple, accessible way.
I teach GCSE and A-Level Maths and Physics, and I work with students of all abilities - from those who just want to pass, to those aiming for the highest grades. Above all, I want my students to leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they arrived.
