About the lesson

A student came to me questioning whether or not friction was relevant to the problem solution. Without giving her the answer, I used the Socratic method to prompt her to use her pre-existing knowledge to find the answer herself. Her confidence level when we began the course was very low and she was elated to have found the answer to her question on her own. That type of experience epitomizes my approach as a tutor. I love to guide students to their own moments of epiphany where the skills they've been building through our sessions coalesce into a deeper understanding that allows them to have confidence to solve problems on their own. I delight in working with students to help them achieve academic success through practice of problem solving skills and proper guidance.
