Hi, my name is Tess. I love reading, baking, and doing yoga. I try to tutor the same way I love to learn, with patience and understanding. I love helping people gain confidence in anything they feel unsure about, whether that is inside or outside the classroom.

The number one priority I want to instill into everyone I teach is understanding, not simply getting the right answer. I encourage critical thinking and taking your time to work through difficult problems. A lesson with me looks like:
-Review of what we already know and have learned
-Introduction of new topics or what they are struggling with
-Check in about what they know, infer, and are struggling with
-Relearn the information with a different perspective to better understand the information
-Practice Practice Practice
