About Hersh
As a tutor, I have firsthand witnessed students with varying learning styles, and I have fit my teaching style to the way that they learn in order to better help them with topics they find difficult. I know that subjects like math and physics can seem very daunting at times, but with the right delivery, difficult topics can become very approachable. I also know that asking a question in a lecture hall or classroom can often be nerve-wracking, so I try to foster an environment where there are no stupid questions, and where you can ask questions anytime you don't understand something.

When focusing on new topics or topics that the student doesn't fully grasp, I begin by help develop a conceptual understanding of the topic, which helps generate intuition for problems. I then provide an example of a worked problem, before giving them practice problems with varying difficulties, in order to prepare them for future problems that are similar.
I am comfortable teaching students up to a college level, and am available for tutoring algebra, precalculus, calculus (including multivariable), differential equations, mechanics, quantum mechanics, and statistical mechanics.
