About Diana
Hi! I’m Diana, a photographer and designer based in Detroit. I graduated from Wayne State University with a BFA in Photography and Industrial Design, giving me a background that combines creative thinking, visual communication, and technical problem-solving.
Photography has been a major part of my education and creative practice, from film and darkroom work to professional digital photography, portraiture, sports, and fine-art projects. I’ve also worked as a photography lab assistant, helping students learn equipment, photographic processes, and techniques.
I love helping people understand not just the technical side of photography, but the creative thinking behind it. My goal is to create a comfortable, encouraging environment where students can ask questions, experiment, and develop confidence in their own ideas.
Whether you’re completely new to photography or looking to take your skills further, I want to help you find your own way of seeing and making photographs.

My photography lessons are personalized to each student’s experience, interests, and goals. Whether you are picking up a camera for the first time, trying to understand manual settings, preparing a portfolio, or looking to develop your own creative style, we will build lessons around what you want to learn.
I teach both digital and film photography, including camera fundamentals, exposure, composition, lighting, portraiture, sports photography, editing, and creative image-making. I also have extensive experience with film developing, darkroom printing, and traditional photographic processes.
My approach is hands-on and focused on learning by doing. Rather than simply memorizing camera settings, I want students to understand why a photograph works and gain the confidence to make intentional choices behind the camera. Lessons can be structured around practical shooting exercises, reviewing and discussing your photographs, learning new techniques, or working toward a specific project or portfolio.
Photography is both a technical skill and a creative practice, and I want students to develop both.
