About Phoenix

full-time athlete on the GB National Taekwondo Team. I spend my time competing internationally, training with world-class coaches, and helping students master English with the same passion I bring to sport. I’ve always loved poetry, storytelling, and deepening how we express ourselves. I’m a published author of two books, a member of the National Poetry Association, and I specialise in helping students not just learn English, but feel confident using it — whether for GCSE success or fluent everyday speaking. When I’m not training or tutoring, I’m reading, writing, or spending quality time with my family. I believe learning should feel empowering, not overwhelming.

I’m Phoenix Goodman — a dedicated English tutor with over 3 years of experience helping students unlock their potential in GCSE English Language, Literature, and spoken English for non-native speakers. My teaching style is warm, energetic, and highly focused. I break down complex ideas into clear, relatable steps using exam-focused methods, active recall, and real-world examples to make content stick. Whether it’s analysing Shakespeare, refining writing structure, or building fluency, I tailor every lesson to suit the student’s learning style and goals. Each session is 60 minutes and packed with discussion, practice questions, and targeted feedback. I create a calm but motivating space that helps students grow in both skill and confidence.
