About Gray
What sets me apart from other tutors is that I have won a department award for my skill in logic, I study Scholastic Metaphysics, I have a background in Christian/Catholic theology (I double majored in college), I am an exceptionally patient person, and I have experience teaching and grading students as a TA for an Ethics class at a state university (University of South Carolina) for 2 years. I have informally tutored students before, and I always have very positive feedback from my students about the quality of the class and their time with me.

As a tutor, I will focus on the subjects you are interested in or studying for in any classes you may be taking, but I will take it at your own pace.
When teaching most subjects, I will follow a basic Socratic method of asking questions, where I will encourage the student to question (not doubt) their own beliefs so they will be able to think for themselves in a reasonable way. Students will be asked to present and argue for what they believe. Studies will focus less on memorization and more on critical thinking.
When teaching Logic, I will follow an online textbook (no textbook purchases required for any tutoring), provide explanations of a given topic, guide you through a few practice problems, and have you practice a few on your own. We will continue on a given topic until both you and I feel confident in your ability to perform the requisite syllogisms.
These lessons will be at an undergraduate level; however, no prior experience with philosophy is required. Anyone is welcome.
