About Théa

I am highly passionate about helping others broaden their knowledge and I am a strong believer that nobody is incapable of succeeding academically with the right support. I have tutored before and I enjoyed working with both children and adults. My time at Cambridge University as a member of staff has further ignited my passion for discussing mythology and philosophy with others.

About the lesson

I graduated from Cardiff University with Religious Studies and Philosophy Bachelor degree, I consistently gained a first in my essays. I now work at Cambridge University in the Student Services centre as a disability adviser. My teaching style is collaborative rather than just talking at the student. I will provide practice papers and mini question tasks tailored to the student's goal if requested. Every student is unique in the way they learn so I make sure to have a conversation about what techniques they have tried and liked/disliked to make sure they can get the most out of my tutoring. I studied English Literature to A Level standard with an A* at GCSE and a B at A Level. Most recently I have spent the last 4 years working as a Special Educational Needs Supply Teacher across Glamorgan county. Alongside this, I also tutored a young home-schooled 12-year-old girl to help her prepare for mainstream school. Previously, I did a year as a learning support assistant in a year 7 English Class part-time during my A Levels, helping students keep up with the reading, helping them to express their ideas as well as giving advice on how to improve. In addition, I tutored one boy doing his GCSEs at the same time I was, where English was his second language, helping him gain a B in Language and an A in Literature.
