About Steven
As a research scientist for over a decade, I work with math, physics, and chemistry on a daily basis. While I throughly enjoy my work to reveal nature's wonder, I have had no greater sense of pride than when I get to share my understanding with others. Of course, there is no better way to share than teaching.
As a tutor, I aim to help discover the passion of learning that I believe resides within us all. Course materials can at times seem challenging or dull, but once armed with the ability to think about topics and understand the context from which they arise, challenges are easily met and turn into the fuel that ignites our passion for learning and powers success in the classroom.

My teaching philosophy is based on building students skills and understanding in a manor that empowers them with the ability to think. It is my belief that this ability, thinking, is the key component that teachers should strive to instill within their pupils. The ability to think sets the stage for success that begins in the classroom and continues throughout life.
By combining my deep knowledge of math, physics, and chemistry, along with my passion for education, I aim to address students deficiencies and reveal their strengths in order to train their ability to think, not just recite.
I have extensive experience teaching students from highschool through university level courses in both classroom and 1-on-1 settings. While success in the classroom is exemplified by grades and scores, my lesson plans focus on the process of thinking about given topics, to give students the natural ability to achieve their success.
