About Grant
I have recently completed my PhD in history and have significant experience teaching at the high school and post-secondary levels. I have over 4 years of experience in group and one-on-one tutoring in the writing process for students at all levels of experience. In my lessons, I emphasize that there are no stupid or small questions and work on helping students to build the skills necessary to grow and succeed.

I emphasize hands-on approaches to teaching writing. Ideally you have an assignment or project that needs to be worked on that we can discuss. Whether you are at the very beginning and do not know where to start, near the end and wanting an additional set of eyes, or want to check in throughout the whole writing process, I can help!
A typical first lesson will start with us discussing the writing that you want to do (subject, requirements, deadlines, etc.) and what your goals are for our session(s). We will then start working on practical steps to achieve your goals within the parameters of the piece of writing, including (as needed) research approaches, proposals, outlines, and drafting. We will build through the writing process to make you more competent and confident in your ability to develop and express your ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Lessons available for high school, undergraduate, and masters level students regardless of their amount of experience with writing or field of study. Able to assist with course assignments, honours and MA theses, as well as applications for university and graduate school.
