About Gabrielle
I am a first year PhD student studying infectious disease research, a career that I fell in love with in 8th grade. Science has always played a major role in my life, leading me to get first a bachelors in chemical engineering and a masters in tropical medicine. I have taken several opportunities to tutor and to teach at the undergraduate level, and I plan on entering academia to teach alongside my research after I finish my degree. When I'm not focusing on my studies, I knit and crochet profusely and try my best to stay up to date with my family book club.

I see my role as a tutor as filling the gaps that a student may have. Ideally the student will bring homework questions or practice materials that they are struggling with, and we would use them as a jumping off point. We would not only figure out how to get the correct answer but also make some underlying connections to other material and answer the "why" questions that prevent concept sticking! I have tutored all levels of high school math up to calculus, standard and AP chemistry, and standard biology as well as undergraduate general chemistry and biology. Additionally, I can assist with ACT prep as well as college application essay writing and helping students find the best colleges and scholarships to apply for based on their interests.
