About Amber

I absolutely love teaching chemistry, biology and maths at AS, A2 and GCSE level to students keen to aim for top grades. I took Biology, Maths and Chemistry at A-Level and achieved A*A*A*. I am a very smiley person with fantastic organisation skills. I have got a 2.1. in my Masters of Biochemistry from the University of Oxford. My master's project was in neurology, specifically focusing on how sexual behaviour is encoded in the genome. From doing a lab placement researching diabetes in Canada to working full-time at pubs and Merlin attractions, I have skills sourced from many areas. I have also worked as an Assistant Course Director on Oxford Summer Courses, so have past experience working with students aged between 13 to 15. This is key for producing the best mentoring skills I have to give. I took a year out of academia to work as a business analyst at Stagecoach Commercial and Business Development. I am now enrolled to do a PhD at Oxford in Biosciences from now until 2023. Feel free to enquire and I'll reply back within the same day!

I have previously tutored GCSE foundation Maths, as well as working as an Assistant Course Director of Oxford Summer Courses 13-15-year-old age range. I have also tutored in A-Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I also tutor for Oxbridge interview preparations as well as introductory tutorials to Biochemistry.

About the lesson

I like to keep the atmosphere very chilled and welcome mistakes. I thoroughly believe the best way to learn is from the errors previously made. I encourage extra reading and will set work that isn't always in line with the curriculum as it's not about being a robot when it comes to learning but understanding the concepts and applying them correctly.
I am open to the student deciding what to cover each lesson as they know what they're struggling with the most
