About Dan

I offer emergency and long term help for students approaching submission of their assignments or dissertation. Many of my students are mature students (currently employed), have learning difficulties or are just going through a tough time :)

I think that the best way for you to know more about me and my tutoring style would be to read the reviews that students have left on the platform :) Hopefully, they will help you understanding if I am the right tutor for you! In any case, here below you can find a small summary!

I am currently Research Project Manager in Barcelona starting a PhD in mental health at the University of Barcelona. Below is a list of my publications:

1) Porricelli, D., Happé, F., & Zahn, R. (2024). Individual differences in autonomy and sociotropy in relation to autistic traits, camouflaging and interpersonal functioning. Personality and Individual Differences, 227, 112715.
2) Porricelli, D., Tecilla, M., Pucci, V., Di Rosa, E., Mondini, S., & Cappelletti, M. (2024). Cognitive Reserve Modulates Mental Health in Adulthood.
3) Murray, A., Porricelli, D., Smith Scott, D., Nikolajeva, M., Van Loggerenberg, F., Ougrin, D., & Lau, J. Y. (2025) Children's emerging concepts of resilience: Insights from using body mapping in an East London cohort sample of 7-10-year-old children.

I have completed an MSc in Psychology of Affective Disorders at Kings College London awarded with a high Distinction. I have also completed a BSc in Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience at Goldsmiths University of London awarded with a First Class Honours. My background is in behavioural psychology, cognitive and clinical neuroscience as well as psychopharmacology and psychological treatments of mood disorders. These are my current publications as a first author:

My MSc dissertation was awarded with a high Distinction (80) and was successfully published. My BSc dissertation was was awarded with a first class (88) and a nomination for the Experimental Psychology Society (EPS) prize.

I offer help with essay/creative writing, lab reports, SPSS/statistics and dissertation write up. Having been a student myself and a tutor for over 6 years I can understand that assignments can be quite anxiety inducing. Having a good support can go a long way.

Do you need help with planning your dissertation or with your assignments (essays, lab reports) and statistics?

I am a Research project Manager based in Barcelona. I supervise students who do not get enough support from their supervisors for their dissertations (which unfortunately seems quite common). I can help with structure, data analysis, planning and proofreading.

I currently help Bsc and Msc students with their dissertations. I also mark essays and lab reports for university students as part of my PhD and I have also been a tutor for the past 6 years. Currently I have tutored more than 93 University students (BSc, MSc and PhD). I know that a university degree is very tough on the mind of the students and therefore I can offer help and support with planning/writing/statistical analysis for dissertations, writing essays, understanding research methods, writing lab reports, learning to use SPSS (conduct analysis and understand results) and critical analysing of papers. I can also proofread Dissertations/Assignment when required and provide in details comments. This can massively help with the flow of the text.

I have extensive experience in guiding BSc/ BSc foundation year and MSc, MSc conversion students towards their assignments such as essays, critical evaluations of papers, lab reports and dissertations.

Lately I have been working with both mature and younger students on a conversion course, who are struggling understanding Research methods and statistics because they have never done it before. I have also worked with students with learning disabilities.

I love teaching. For me teaching means providing students with those information that can be applied to many topics simultaneously. I do not only provide raw information, but I love to elaborate concepts with the students. I believe that learning is all about understanding. I will be there to help the student fill the gap between the known and unknown, in order to support them in the expansion of their knowledge.

However, I understand that there may be individual differences in how a student may learn, therefore, I am extremely happy to adjust my teaching style based on the students needs. That is because teaching in its higher form is a collaborative process between two people who love the topic they are working on.
