About Angelique

As a university professor with over 15,000 hours of teaching and tutoring experience, I’ve spent plenty of time helping students strengthen their academic writing, understand research methods, and approach grammar with confidence. I have been teaching at the university level for over six years and have several years of experience as a teaching assistant for writing and research-intensive courses. As a student myself, currently pursuing my PhD, I know how difficult it can be when you begin to feel overwhelmed. I have presented at top academic conferences multiple times a year and have been recognized with awards for both my research and writing. I also work professionally as a proofreader, supporting students and professionals. Many of my students have gone from struggling with their essays and worrying about passing a course to producing A-level work. With over 15,000 hours of teaching and tutoring experience, I’ve worked with thousands of students during every stage of their academic journey. I’m a current university professor with over six years of teaching experience, an interdisciplinary PhD student, and an academic proofreader with two years of experience supporting master’s and doctoral students on high-stakes writing. My background also includes several years as a teaching assistant during my Master’s program. I present my work at top-tier academic conferences more than twice a year, and in the past year, I have received four awards (so far) for my papers and have been published twice. I was also previously honored with the Outstanding Graduate Student Award in my discipline.

Here’s what you can expect:

I specialize in simplifying academic writing and helping refine and hone your skills. I will help by simplifying instructions into practical steps and building on your pre-existing strengths. Guidance will be tailored to your needs. If you’re overwhelmed by essay prompts, unclear on structure, or just unsure whether your grammar is holding you back, I’ll help you build confidence, clarity, and technique. Academic writing is a skill, and just like any other skill, whether it is math or constructing something, it requires foundational understanding and practice.

We’ll focus on structure, argumentation, grammar, and syntax for writing. If you need help with research methods or a research-based paper, there is the option to dive into the basics of research design, hypothesis development, variable identification, and formatting of research papers. I frequently support students who are navigating upper-year writing assignments, introductory research methods, and capstone work.

Common areas of support include:
• Essay writing across disciplines (especially humanities and social sciences)
• Grammar, clarity, and proofreading
• Breakdowns of basic terms and requirements for academic writing (literature review, thesis statement, scholarly / peer-reviewed article, etc.)
• Literature reviews and research paper organization
• Research methods (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods basics)
• Statements of purpose and university applications
• Formatting and revising work for publication or thesis submission

My approach to helping you emphasizes understanding by explaining why changes are made so that you can develop long-term skills and not become reliant on external help.

Students I’ve worked with on writing and grammar have gone from failing papers to earning As, and from dreading assignments to submitting work with confidence.

I believe anyone can become a strong writer with the right support and instruction, and I’m here to help you.
