Overall, I focus on the needs of the student. Everyone will engage differently and find different things interesting and being an effective tutor is about understanding these habits and using them to make the subject as a whole interesting. For example, one can make angular acceleration interesting to an ice skater by discussing how different forms cause them to accelerate or decelerate.
