About Jonathan
I am a post-doctoral researcher at King's College London. Here, I research levitated nanoparticles. I love my job and I love physics! So in a lot of ways, I have lucked out a little bit. The attention to detail and curiosity that I can explore here are really something to be excited about.
Hopefully, this gets across a core part about me: I am excitable and really enjoy what I do. My plan will be to help convey this love of physics and maths through my sessions!

Hi there!
My focus in tutorials is, and always has been, to make maths and physics fun and intuitive! This approach is simply because it makes the subject and ideas far less intimidating and helps to build the confidence needed to tackle new and unclear questions. In particular, I look to improve your underlying understanding of the topic at hand. This way you will not just be using a formula but rather see that formula in action, and maybe start to see it in the world too! To achieve this I utilize student-led discussions alongside conceptual questions to get to the heart of complex topics.
I have been tutoring now for 5 years, this was alongside my undergraduate degree and my doctorate. Throughout this time I have developed a huge range of teaching styles and worked with a wide range of students. I find that one-hour tutorials work best for this since they avoid burning out from longer sessions!
