About Barbara
I am passionate about mathematics and physics, actually very meticulous, with about 20 years of research activity behind me. In fact, I am also the author or co-author of more than 20 publications in peer review scientific journals in English. I have worked as a post-doctoral researcher, especially abroad, almost a year in Germany, near Koln, and several years in Paris. In this period, I find it more useful to dedicate myself to teach. On the one hand I am curious to try to answer questions on "difficult" abstract topics; and on the other hand I like to take the time to clarify doubts that often arise from misunderstandings of basic concepts.

I try to make myself useful to the specific student, whether he/she attends middle school (where I had the opportunity to do some substitute teaching), secondary school or university. Generally, I try to start from the difficulties he/she encounters to go back to the concepts that are perhaps not sufficiently clear to him/her and make them more approachable and interesting both by carrying out exercises and practical examples and from a theoretical point of view. I find it particularly useful to propose exercises in which a practical problem must be translated into mathematical and physical formulas, such as, to begin with, to allow a deeper understanding of the role of the "unknown x", and, at higher levels, to suggest which is the most suitable mathematical approach to solve the problem. Among my teaching specificities in mathematics, after set theory, perhaps the most classic is the study of functions and their graphs, but I have also worked on systems of ordinary differential equations and on cellular automata; in physics, I am specialized in statistical mechanics, but among my teaching specialties, in addition to thermodynamics, various topics of general physics are included.
