About Gilbert
I am an LA native born and raised in Hollywood. I attended CSULA after 2 years at community college. I obtained a PhD in organic chemistry from UCLA studying natural product total synthesis. I currently work in the pharmaceutical industry as a medicinal chemist. Outside of work, I love gaming, hiking, and sports.

Experienced organic chemist with 5+ years of TA experience at UCLA and practical laboratory experience of applied organic chemistry. Teaching methods involve showing reaction mechanisms and flow charts for fundamental ochem subjects aimed at the undergraduate learner. A typical lesson would involve the student notifying me about the subject they wish to review in advance and learn it with me through combination of mini lecture and practice problems.
