My Approach to Tutoring
I believe that every student learns differently, and my approach to tutoring is to create a supportive, engaging and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas.
**Teaching Techniques and Methodology**
My teaching style is interactive, patient and tailored to each student's learning needs, abilities and goals. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps, using practical examples, visual aids and real-world applications to make learning easier to understand and more enjoyable.
I encourage students to think critically, ask questions and develop their own problem-solving skills rather than simply memorizing information. My aim is to help students build confidence, develop a genuine interest in learning and become independent learners.
**Typical Lesson Length**
Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, although I am happy to adjust the duration depending on the student's age, learning needs and goals.
**Qualifications and Experience**
I hold a PhD in biomedical science and a Master of Data Science, with extensive experience in scientific research, data analysis and problem-solving.
Throughout my professional career, I have mentored Year 10 work-experience students, trained colleagues in laboratory techniques and analytical methods, and communicated complex scientific concepts to audiences with different levels of technical knowledge.
My academic and professional background has equipped me with strong skills in biology, biomedical science, mathematics, statistics, data analysis and programming.
**Who My Lessons Are For**
I offer tutoring tailored to students at different stages of their learning journey, including:
- **Primary and secondary school students:** Science, biology, introductory mathematics and STEM subjects.
- **VCE students:** Biology and relevant science subjects.
- **University students:** Biology, biomedical science, research methods, statistics and introductory data science.
Whether you are looking to strengthen your understanding of a subject, improve your academic performance or learn a new skill, I aim to make each lesson engaging, practical and suited to your individual learning goals.
