About Elisabetta
I am a scientist who leads and deliver research in virology at a University in London. As Assistant Professor/Lecturer I deliver lectures in medical microbiology, clinical pharmacology and virology. For many years, I taught an "introduction to biology" aimed at University students with no A levels in biology.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I contributed to many radio and TV programmes to help the public make sense of the virus, the tests, the lockdowns and the new vaccines!
I am passionate about bringing the scientific knowledge from the research lab to the people out in the real world, starting with students! Being a student juggling many subjects can be challenging and "biology" as a subject is constantly evolving due to amazing advances in research, so I am very happy to support your learning!

I have been teaching both class and one-to-one regularly for the past 15 years (4 of which as Assistant Professor at a London University)
I start with the big picture, then build in details as appropriate for the required level.
I often use analogies, because everything in biology follows the bio-logic of the real world, we just need to see it in our everyday life!
I support my lectures with slides that include diagrams, bullet points and lots of pictures (including from my own research!).
