About Layla
I am an experienced mathematics educator and researcher with a PhD in Mathematics and extensive university-level teaching experience. I have taught students from diverse academic backgrounds and enjoy making challenging mathematical ideas clear and approachable. My teaching approach focuses on making mathematics clear, accessible, and engaging. I explain concepts step by step, connect new ideas to what students already know, and use carefully chosen examples before moving to independent problem-solving.
A typical lesson includes a brief review, explanation of the main concepts, guided examples, and practice problems. I adapt each lesson to the student’s individual needs, goals, and learning pace.
With extensive university-level teaching and research experience in mathematics, I emphasize understanding and mathematical reasoning rather than memorization. I tutor high-school and university students, from foundational mathematics to advanced subjects including calculus, linear algebra and abstract algebra.
