About Anastasia

Hi! I'm Anastasia. I offer online math tutoring to high school and university students:

- secondary/high school math (Quebec Sec I-V, Ontario Grades 9-12, anywhere else in North America)
- CEGEP (201-NYA-05, 201-NYB-05, 201-NYC-05, etc.)
- university (calculus, linear algebra, probability)

I have a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin, where I specialized in probability theory and financial math. Throughout the years of studying and doing mathematics, I tutored calculus, probability, and financial math; TA’d for various math courses at UT Austin; and taught computational finance as a lecturer at the University of Alberta.

Education:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics (2023), University of Texas at Austin, USA (probability & financial mathematics).
- M.Sc. in Mathematics (2018), University of Bonn, Germany (probability & stochastic analysis).
- B.Sc. in Mathematics (2015), University of Primorska, Slovenia.

About the lesson

My goal is to help you become confident and comfortable using mathematical concepts by understanding them really well. Good grades and passed exams are a natural byproduct of that. I will answer your questions and ask you questions, in a dialogue, to dig deep into the topic you have problems with or would like to understand better. We will start by working with any materials and questions that you bring, and I can recommend or prepare something more as needed - tailored to you and your specific situation and needs.

When you study mathematics at school, college, or university, you are trying to master – in 10-15 years – the body of knowledge that took ~2,500 years and life's works of many very intelligent people to build. Feeling lost and like it's too much is just natural. There is no such thing as a dumb question when you study math. Your questions (and not mindless drilling) is where you actually start doing the real math.

Topics I can help you with:
- High school math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, functions,...)
- Calculus
- Linear algebra
- Probability
- Other topics may be considered upon request

Past students have told me I'm patient. People have described me as thoughtful. I'm always learning and I love to help complex topics "click" for people. Communication with me will be transparent, clear, and fast. Let's connect to discuss your needs and see if we are a good fit!

Perfect! Anastasia is exceptionally knowledgable, approachable, and well-organized. She is able to explain complex mathematical ideas with clarity and precision. Her thoughtful, well-articulated explanations help to provide intuitions behind theorems rather than just formal results. I have had a few sesions with her and am already feeling more confident about my understanding of stochastic analysis.

Anastasia's response
Annastasia asks meaningful questions, plans ahead, and understands the difference between important ideas and figureoutable details. She is a great, responsible, serious student. Looking forward to future classes with her.

I highly recommend Anastasia. She is probably one of the smartest and most determined people I’ve ever met. If you have an important goal you want to achieve, or just want to understand math on a deeper level, I think she’s a great choice! Of course, you’ll need to put in the work yourself, but you won't be alone in the process. Anastasia is not someone who simply knows the subject well. She genuinely understands it and wants to share that understanding with you. That’s what I value about her a lot.
