About Himesh

I am currently completing a PhD in History at the University of Warwick, where I also completed both my MA in History (Distinction) and BA in History (First Class Honours). My academic training has given me extensive experience in historical research, critical analysis, and advanced essay writing, which I bring directly into my teaching.

Alongside my academic background, I also have professional experience in banking and finance. This allows me to support students not only with their academic studies but also with career preparation, CV writing, and graduate job applications, particularly for roles in finance and professional services.

I enjoy helping students build confidence in their abilities, improve their analytical skills, and achieve strong academic results through structured and supportive lessons.

About the lesson

Teaching Methodology

My teaching is structured, supportive, and tailored to each student's needs. For history students, I focus on developing critical thinking, argument construction, and strong essay-writing skills. I help students learn how to analyse sources, build clear historical arguments, and structure high-quality coursework and exam answers.

For GCSE Maths and English, I focus on strengthening core skills, improving confidence, and practising exam techniques through worked examples and guided problem-solving. Lessons are interactive and adapted to the student's pace, ensuring concepts are clearly understood before moving forward.

Alongside academic tutoring, I can also support university students and graduates with CV writing, job applications, and career preparation. With a professional background in finance and banking, I provide practical advice on graduate job searches and preparing for professional roles.

Lesson Length

Typical lessons last 60 minutes, although longer sessions (90–120 minutes) can be arranged.

Qualifications and Experience

I hold a PhD in History and have experience teaching and supporting students at university level. My academic training allows me to guide students through complex historical topics, research methods, and advanced essay writing.

In addition to academia, I have professional experience working in finance and banking, which allows me to support students and graduates with career development, CV preparation, and navigating the graduate job market.
