About Alice
I first fell in love with Shakespeare's works in Year 9, studying The Merchant of Venice. I then decided, somewhat bizarrely, to study Classics at university! (Mostly this was due to my love of mythology.) I read Classical Studies at King's College, London, where I learnt Latin and studied Roman poetry. I then went back to Shakespeare, studying for a Masters at Royal Holloway, University of London and earning a Distinction. I'd truly caught the Shakespeare bug by then so decided to pursue a doctorate in the guy at the University of Edinburgh and have recently graduated -- and I'm still not tired of him! I spend my free time reading (things other than Shakespeare) and I have recently completed the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) as well as the Teaching Young Learners courses.

Stumped by Shakespeare? I can help! Can't understand a word? I'll translate it for you! Little footnotes at the bottom of the page not helping? I'll decode them for you! My classes will help you to tackle your Shakespearean studies. We can read the play together, discuss themes and analyse filmed productions. I'll help you to structure your essays for the best results and prep for exams. Lessons will be based around your needs: whatever you need help with, I'll do my best!
