About Nirmani
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, where I hold a full scholarship awarded for academic merit. I previously completed my undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, graduating with First Class Honours as the top student in my class. I have over seven years of experience tutoring high school students and have successfully guided more than 15 students to gain admission to Oxbridge. Having lived in over five countries and worked with students from diverse backgrounds, I am skilled at connecting with and supporting students from all walks of life.

My lessons are highly tailored to each student’s individual needs, goals, and learning style. I focus on building a strong understanding of core concepts, while also helping students develop the critical thinking skills needed to tackle challenging problems independently. I start by gauging the student’s current knowledge and abilities. I will then build my lesson plan from this, as I do not believe in a general strategy for students to memorise content. This is especially important in subjects like maths and physics as understanding concepts, not memorising, are key to these subjects. I also place a strong emphasis on exam strategies, time management, and confidence-building, especially for students preparing for competitive university admissions like Oxbridge. Having worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds, I am very adaptable in my approach and create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Ultimately, my goal is to not just help students achieve academic success, but to foster a genuine love of learning that stays with them beyond the classroom.
