About Matthew
I am a composer, teacher, and editor of music with over ten years of experience teaching piano. I am classically trained, currently offering lessons in piano, recorder, accordion, music theory, and composition. I have had my works performed across Europe.

I am experienced in teaching students from complete beginner to post grade 8 level in piano. I can also assist with GCSE and A-Level work, aural skills and more. History of music and composition courses can also be taken with me, as well as music theory. I also offer intensive courses for music theory.
My teaching style is flexible and will match what you are looking for - though I am generally a more conservative style teacher, with an emphasis on good performance and practice technique. My aim as a teacher is to make all of my students well developed and independent musicians. I give a well-rounded musical experience and always try to let students experience diverse music they may not otherwise come across, and to integrate theory and history into lessons as well.

Details
Composition classes are £45 per hour. I operate a 24 hour cancellation policy. If a lesson is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice and a mutually agreeable replacement lesson cannot be arranged in the same week, then the lesson will still be charged.
