About Dr Linsey
Hello! I'm Dr Linsey Morgan, a dedicated PhD-qualified tutor specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEND), dyslexia support, and inclusive learning. With a PhD in Educational Research, my thesis explored the educational experiences of dyslexic school-aged students using participatory methods—giving me unique, research-informed insights into overcoming learning barriers.
I bring nearly 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience across primary, secondary, college, and university levels. I'm passionate about helping learners of all ages and starting points thrive—whether catching up on basics, rebuilding confidence after setbacks, or pushing for top grades in exams and higher studies.
My teaching style is warm, patient, and 100% student-centred. Every session is fully tailored to your (or your child's) unique needs, learning preferences, pace, and goals. I use inclusive, multisensory techniques to make concepts clear, engaging, and enjoyable—building trust, independence, and a real love for learning.
Subjects and levels I tutor:
- English, Maths, and Science: Primary to GCSE and A-Level
- Research skills, academic writing, dissertation/thesis guidance, ethics, and postgraduate support
- Fully familiar with major UK exam boards: AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, WJEC/Eduqas—I align sessions precisely to your syllabus, past papers, mark schemes, and question styles for targeted exam success.

My Teaching Approach
Lessons with me are fully tailored to each individual student, focusing on exam technique, effective revision strategies, and building a deeper understanding of core curriculum concepts in English, Maths, and Science (KS2 to GCSE/A-Level). Drawing from my PhD research in dyslexia and educational inclusion, plus nearly 20 years of specialist experience, I've refined methods that work especially well for learners with SEND, helping them overcome barriers, regain confidence, and achieve real progress.
We work collaboratively through exam-style questions, review key concepts, and target any challenging areas of the course. I adapt everything to your (or your child's) unique learning style, strengths, pace, and goals—using inclusive, multisensory techniques (e.g., visual aids, hands-on activities, structured breakdowns) to make ideas clear and engaging while sparking those important 'lightbulb' moments.
Feel free to bring as many questions as needed to each session. We'll practise approaching exam questions step-by-step: decoding what they're really asking, structuring strong written answers, managing time effectively, and applying mark schemes for maximum marks. Sessions are relaxed yet structured—no judgement, just positive encouragement, motivation, and measurable results.
Extra Support I Offer
I'm happy to help with personal statements and university applications (including for competitive courses like PhD propsals and funding applications), drawing on my understanding of what admissions teams value to craft compelling, authentic applications.
I'm also glad to guide GCSE, A-Level, or university coursework—reviewing drafts, refining structure, and ensuring alignment with assessment criteria.
Typical Lesson Flow
We start with a quick check-in on progress and priorities, then dive into targeted practice or concept review with clear explanations and interactive activities. We end with key takeaways, revision tips to try independently, and light homework that's achievable and confidence-building. Sessions are flexible in length (45–90 minutes) to suit age, concentration, and goals—keeping things productive without overwhelming anyone.
This inclusive, empathetic style is particularly effective for students who need more than standard teaching—re-engaging them with learning, closing knowledge gaps, and equipping them with lifelong skills for exams and beyond. All abilities welcome, from foundational catch-up to high-achieving exam prep.
If you're looking for supportive, results-driven tuition that adapts to your needs in a nurturing space, I'd love to help you succeed!
