About George
I (he/they) am a 26 year-old PhD student, close to finishing my doctorate at the University of Durham. I had previously graduated with a Master's in chemistry from the University of Durham/Technical University of Munich.
I have always enjoyed helping the development of younger students and young adults, demonstrated by my work with NCS and through demonstrating at the university.
Outside of work, I began coaching swimming and water polo for year 7s when I was 14, taking on more responsibility as I progressed in school. More recently, I was made club captain of the university's handball team, which involved coaching players ranging from complete beginners to international competitors.
Now with a deeper science knowledge, and combined with my understanding of the curriculum, owing to my fiancée's job as a science teacher, I am hoping to use this experience to aid the development of students in the area, in order to help them achieve their goals for the academic year.

I am offering tutorship to students undergoing an A-level in Chemistry, or students undergoing a GCSE in Chemistry/Science/Maths
Since graduating University, I have had experience in guiding teenagers and young adults of a range of abilities, either through leading teams in NCS, or demonstrating to the younger undergraduates at the University.
I have an excellent knowledge of the subject, and my fiancée is a science teacher, meaning that my understanding of the curriculum and common misconceptions is up to date.
Lessons will last one hour, and will typically take the form of working together through questions. I do not intend to lecture/explain the answers, rather I believe the best way to help a student understand a topic is to guide them, so that they can work out the answer themselves.
I fully encourage students to ask me questions/explain areas that they struggle in, and I am always willing to adapt my approach to ensure that the student is as comfortable as possible.
