About Negin

I am a PhD-qualified Chemical Engineer, registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta, and university instructor with a strong academic background and extensive experience in teaching, research, and applied mathematics.

I hold a PhD and MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tehran. Throughout my academic and professional career, I have applied advanced mathematics, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving techniques to complex engineering and scientific challenges.

As a university instructor, I have experience explaining challenging technical concepts to students with different academic backgrounds and levels of understanding. I recognize that every student learns differently, and I take the time to adapt my explanations and teaching methods to individual needs.

My teaching philosophy is simple: Mathematics becomes easier and more enjoyable when students understand the reasoning behind it. I focus on building strong foundations, developing independent problem-solving skills, and helping students approach mathematical challenges with confidence.

I am patient, approachable, organized, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

Whether your goal is to strengthen foundational math skills, improve academic performance, or prepare for more advanced studies, I look forward to helping you achieve your learning goals.

I am a PhD Chemical Engineer, registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), and university engineering instructor with extensive experience 15 + years) teaching mathematics, engineering, and quantitative problem-solving.

My Teaching Approach

I believe that successful learning begins with understanding concepts rather than memorizing formulas. My lessons are personalized to each student's academic level, learning pace, and goals, whether they need help strengthening foundational math skills, improving grades, preparing for exams, or mastering challenging topics.

I use a structured, interactive, and step-by-step teaching approach that combines clear explanations, visual demonstrations, guided practice, and real-world applications. My goal is to help students understand not only how to solve a problem, but also why each step works.

What to Expect During a Typical Lesson

- Assess and identify learning needs: Review the student's current understanding, challenges, and learning objectives.
- Explain key concepts: Break down complex topics into manageable steps using clear explanations and visual examples.
- Practice together: Work through carefully selected problems, gradually encouraging independent problem-solving.
- Build confidence: Introduce practical techniques for approaching assignments, quizzes, and exams.
- Review and reinforce: Summarize key concepts, address questions, and recommend practice exercises.

Interactive Learning and Digital Resources

I use interactive teaching software and a digital tablet to explain concepts, solve problems, and annotate solutions in real time. After each session, students receive digital copies of the annotated lesson materials to support independent review and continued learning.

What Sets My Lessons Apart

My combination of advanced academic qualifications, university-level teaching experience, and practical engineering expertise allows me to explain mathematical concepts clearly and connect them to meaningful applications.

I adapt my teaching style to each student, emphasize logical reasoning and problem-solving strategies, and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

Who My Lessons Are For

I offer personalized mathematics tutoring for:

- Elementary School (Grades 4–6): Foundational math, fractions, decimals, percentages, and problem-solving.
- Junior High (Grades 7–9): Pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, equations, and mathematical reasoning.
- High School (Grades 10–12): Mathematics 10, 20, and 30, including Pre-Calculus, Functions, Trigonometry, and introductory Calculus.
- Advanced High School and University Engineering Students: AP/IB mathematics, Calculus I–III, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Engineering Mathematics.

Whether you are looking to catch up, stay ahead, improve your grades, or prepare for an important exam, my lessons are designed to help you develop strong mathematical foundations, greater confidence, and independent problem-solving skills.
