About Nicol Beatrice

I have a BA Honours and an MA in animation, and I am currently studying for my PhD. I am passionate about animation, storytelling and character design. I have also been teaching at Media Academy Cymru, a very forward-thinking college, and I specialise in supporting students with additional needs.

For my freelance and industry experience, I have worked on projects including graphic design, in rebranding and creating company logos and creating animation sequences. I have also had the opportunity to do experience work with Picle animation in Cardiff, where I did character design and animation for their short film.
I have also been part of a small team whose film was shortlisted at the Cardiff Animation Festival, where I contributed to story development. I have also been working with my friends at Animagitive on CAF Quick Draw for the last few years and on current projects.

About the lesson

An overview of animation production techniques, including story development and storyboarding, character design, and scriptwriting. Right through to animation production and post-production.

My speciality is teaching animation adaptation for both film and television. I am currently studying this subject at the doctoral level.
