About James
I've been a TA throughout my undergraduate degree at U of T and my graduate degree at UCLA. I completed my master's and doctoral coursework at UCLA, with a focus on partial differential equations, but I have lots of expertise teaching across all areas of mathematics. I've taught everything from pre-calculus to graduate level analysis, including proof-based classes like linear algebra and discrete math.

I've got 8 years of experience teaching students of all backgrounds and abilities - I know what students find confusing and how to help. We'll work to build your understanding of the material by working through problems together.
I use active learning techniques that are backed up by real scientific studies! That means I'll be helping you work through problems so that you build the skills and confidence you'll need when the test comes around. We'll also work together to make the complicated theorems and examples you see in lecture make sense.
