About Carlos Juliano
I am an experienced Teaching Assistant, having taught at the University of Essex for the past four years. I have also an Associate Fellow (D1) accreditation from the Higher Education Academy. I am a Brazilian criminal lawyer who moved to the UK to pursue a Master's degree in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at the University of Essex and decided to stay for a PhD.
I am currently in the last year of my PhD in Human Rights at the same University. I am also a legal researcher, working on a joint project between the British Red Cross, the Lauterpacht Centre at the University of Cambridge, and the International Committee of the Red Cross on the study of customary international law.

My teaching approach is quite informal, mainly explaining concepts in an accessible manner and discussing the most important elements of a particular topic, in order to exercise the student's ability to analyse the whole subject as a whole.
