About Soraida

I am committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their skills, and achieving their academic goals. I bring a strong academic and professional background, including 10 years of experience using R for statistical analysis, data analysis, and research. I genuinely enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts, build confidence, and succeed.

About the lesson

I teach beginner, intermediate, and advanced R programming with a hands-on, personalized approach. My goal is not simply to teach you how to write R code, but to help you understand what the code is doing, why you are using it, and how to interpret and communicate your results.

I have been a teaching assistant for a Biostatistics course at the University of Illinois for the past three years, and I have 10 years of experience using R for statistical analysis, data analysis, and research. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adjust each lesson to your experience level, learning style, and goals.

We will code together throughout each lesson rather than simply watching me demonstrate. I will guide you step-by-step, explain concepts clearly, and give you opportunities to practice the skills yourself. If you get stuck, we will work through the problem together so that you leave the lesson understanding how and why the solution works.

In your first lesson, we will become familiar with RStudio and work through simple examples to help you feel comfortable navigating R and writing basic code. From there, lessons can be tailored to your goals, whether you are learning R for the first time, working on statistics or data visualization, analyzing data for a class or research project, or developing more advanced R programming skills.

My lessons are designed for students at all levels—from beginners, including middle and high school students, to college and graduate students. I can help with statistics, data visualization, data analysis, research, and developing practical R programming skills. Whether you need help understanding the basics or want to learn more advanced techniques, we will work at a pace that allows you to build both your skills and confidence.
