About Chloe

I have 7+ years of research design, data analysis, academic writing, and student supervisory experience and love helping people do great research and writing. I also have significant experience bridging academic and policy/industry insights, to help ensure your research has impact.

I am friendly, direct, and have significant experience working with collaborators and learners from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

English is my first language, but I do speak some French. I have had all of my education in the Canadian university system, and with a very multidisciplinary background I excel at bridging disciplines.

About the lesson

Hello!

My name is Chloe, I hold a PhD in Population Medicine and International Development from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph. With a research background in social epidemiology and social determinants of health, I am an expert in mixed methods and qualitative research design. I am also a passionate promoter of engaging and inclusive academic writing (… let’s put the days of overly jargonistic writing behind us; ‘professional’ mustn’t equate to dry/inaccessible!)

Who I can help, and with what:

Are you an academic writing in English as a second language (or just looking for a fresh set of eyes before making a journal submission)?

I can help with proofreading and editing, including suggesting accessible or plain-language edits. This will promote a streamlined publication process within a North American or European journal (translating regional and disciplinary writing styles)

Are you a student?

I have extensive experience supervising and mentoring undergraduate and master’s students and can help you with the ideation, design, and editing/proofreading of your thesis or coursework assignments (i.e., research papers, policy briefs, presentations).

Not a student but looking for writing/editing support?

I have worked in industry and government and can support with crafting new products or translating existing ones (e.g., short, creative, and engaging knowledge mobilization or briefing products) for a wide variety of audiences.
