About Melissa
I absolutely love science and have been tutoring students of all ages for over 12 years.
I also have experience working with children suffering from learning disabilities.
I have the patients to explain the same concept multiple times using many different examples and concepts as long as the student is willing to put in the effort and wants to learn!
I tutored one of my students for five years after she had failed her first year of high school. My help and her incredible hard work resulted in her graduating with her class and being accepted into John Abbott College.

I really enjoy tutoring tutoring because the satisfaction a student experiences when they finally understand a concept which has been troubling them is truly rewarding.

I help students understand the concepts they are struggling with by first discovering which step of the process is causing them trouble and then re-explaining with demonstrations and comparisons in a way that makes sense to them. I am happy to go over the same subject multiple times until it is fully understood as long as the student is motivated!
After that we usually progress to the students doing multiple questions of increasing difficulty themselves while I watch their process and encourage them to make sure everything is fitting together properly.
I have 12 years of tutoring experience, including students with learning disabilities.
I am comfortable tutoring primary and secondary level math and sciences, cegep level chemistry, biology and physics as well as university level medical and physiology courses.
