About Joanne
Hello, I’m Joanne, a dedicated, PGCE-qualified teacher with more than 18 years of classroom experience in British international schools. I also hold a CELTA qualification and have 11 years of experience teaching English, including EAL learners, young learners and students preparing for Cambridge examinations and IELTS.
Throughout my career, I have taught children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, helping them become confident, independent learners. I understand that every student progresses differently, so I provide patient, well-structured and personalised lessons in a welcoming environment.
I am professional, reliable and committed to maintaining high standards. Parents and students can expect thoughtful preparation, clear communication, constructive feedback and lessons designed to achieve measurable progress. My aim is to ensure that every learner feels supported, capable and proud of their achievements.

Hello, I’m Joanne, a PGCE-qualified teacher with more than 18 years of experience in British international primary schools and 11 years of English-language teaching experience.
My lessons are friendly, engaging and carefully adapted to each learner’s ability, interests and goals. I use clear explanations, modelling, guided practice, questioning and positive feedback to build understanding and confidence. Where appropriate, I incorporate games, discussion, reading comprehension, creative writing and exam-style activities. I also use Read Write Inc. techniques to support younger learners with phonics, reading and spelling.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although shorter sessions may be more suitable for younger children. I teach English and humanities to primary and lower-secondary learners, including pupils preparing for SATs and 11+ examinations. With extensive experience supporting children who speak English as an additional language, I provide patient, inclusive tuition that helps every learner make progress and enjoy learning.
