About Howell
Adjusting the curriculum to match your taste is vital. I confess that I find rigid lesson plans boring for both of us. We focus on tuning, maintenance, and acoustic technique immediately. I provide custom backing tracks so students can practice soloing at home.
This strategy works well for absolute beginners and advanced performers alike. My 17 years of experience ensures that music theory remains practical. I hope you find the process as rewarding as I do.

Rarely do people consider that guitar technique is purely physical. I discovered this truth while performing as a gigging musician for 17 years. With 112 students taught, I balance the needs of absolute beginners and performance-focused students. My BA from UCLA in Latin American Music Studies informs my approach to scales, modes, and theory.
I help advanced learners refine their acoustic technique and lead guitar playing. My goal is to ensure you feel confident while writing your own songs or mastering complex tabs. I look forward to hearing about your musical destination.
